Continuing Education Credits Offered

The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is approved to offer many types of continuing education credit; see below for more information about the different categories of credit offered. Please note that each event does not offer all types of continuing education credit. Information about the types of credit offered is available on the registration page of each event.   • Psychologists:  The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Chicago School of Professional Psychology maintains responsibility for all programs and their content.
  • Counselors/Clinical Counselors Licensed in Illinois: The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) to provide continuing education programming for counselors and clinical counselors. License Number: 197.000159.  The official status of a license can be verified at www.idfpr.com.
  • Social Workers Licensed in Illinois: The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) to provide continuing education programming for social workers. License Number: 159.001036. The official status of a license can be verified at www.idfpr.com.
  • Marriage and Family Therapists, Counselors, and Social Workers in California: The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is approved by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) to offer continuing education programming for MFTs, LPCCs, LEPs, and/or LCSWs.  The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is an accredited or approved postsecondary institution that meets the requirements set forth in Sections 4980.54(f)(1), 4989.34, 4996.22(d)(1), or 4999.76(d) of the Code.
  • Other Mental Health Professionals: Most licensing boards accept Continuing Education Credits sponsored by the American Psychological Association (APA); non-psychologists are recommended to consult with their specific state-licensing board to ensure that APA-sponsored CE is acceptable.
  • Human Resources Professionals:  The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.
  • Educators in Illinois:  The School Psychology Program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is an approved Professional Development Provider for the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).  ISBE Region, County, District, Type Code: 651081785510000.
  • School Psychologists: The Chicago School of Professional Psychology’s School Psychology Program is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) to offer continuing professional development.  The Chicago School of Professional Psychology maintains responsibility for all continuing professional development activities.
