Biography

Dr. Alixis S. Rhodes is from Reading, Pennsylvania. She currently has a doctorate in Applied Clinical Psychology, a master's degree in Forensic Psychology, and a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Dr. Rhodes is a world traveler and has traveled to over 33 countries. She is an Assistant Professor for the Applied Clinical Psychology program at TCSPP. Dr. Rhodes has worked with individuals that are diagnosed with severe mental illnesses, as well as those who are detained in the legal system. She also provided therapeutic services to the families and children in the foster care system. Dr. Rhodes' experience with working with children in an outpatient treatment facility that were diagnosed with major depressive disorders and eating disorders. She is also one of the founders of No Black Girl Left Behind (NBGLB). It was created due to the perceived notion that black women do not support each other. No Black Girl Left Behind motto is to connect, uplift, and inspire. NBGLB strives with their ambassadors to uplift each other towards achieving their goals, connecting, and becoming a strong support system for one another, while implementing self-care. One of Dr. Rhodes' purposes in life is to help people understand the importance of incorporating healthy mental health practices, so that people can live a vibrant and successful life that is defined on their own terms. Her school of thought is from the liberation perspective when working with individuals. Dr. Rhodes is deeply committed to helping people find clarity, the change they need in the midst of them loving who they are, while growing during this process.
