Biography

Andrea Brokaw, Psy.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at The Chicago School, Anaheim. Dr. Brokaw completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona and her graduate studies at Argosy University, Orange County with her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Child and Adolescent Psychology. Dr. Brokaw completed an APA accredited internship at Western Youth Services in Orange County, where she worked with a diverse population of low-income, underserved children, adolescents, and families. She also completed her post-doctoral training at Western Youth Services where she had additional training in evidenced based practices for children, adolescents and families, psychological testing, and providing clinical supervision. Following her post-doctoral training, she worked in a dual diagnosis eating disorder and substance abuse partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program, in conjunction with group private practice. Dr. Brokaw then returned to work for Western Youth Services for an additional six years where she provided psychotherapy; psychological testing and evaluations; and supervision to practicum students, psychology doctoral internship students, post-doctoral students. Dr. Brokaw also served as Interim Doctoral Internship Director for one year where she oversaw and facilitated the APA doctoral internship program. Dr. Brokaw has specialized in working with children, adolescents, families, trauma, substance abuse, psychological and developmental assessment and testing, attachment and parenting. Currently, Dr. Brokaw is a California licensed psychologist and has a private practice working with children, adolescents, families, and young adults. Dr. Brokaw also taught as adjunct professor at TSC prior to joining TCS faculty full time. As a current core faculty member, Dr. Brokaw teaches courses in cognitive, personality and integrative assessment, diagnostic seminar, family and couples therapy, and lifespan development.
