Biography
Dr. Andrew Khalil, PsyD, LMFT, LPCC, is the Director of Clinical Training for the M.A. Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy Distance Education program at The Chicago School. He is responsible for overseeing practicum training, developing partnerships with clinical sites, and supporting students in their transition from academic learning to clinical practice. His work emphasizes ethical integrity, cultural responsiveness, and adherence to professional training standards.
In addition to his academic role, Dr. Khalil is the founder of Neuro Nexus, a private practice focused on trauma, neurodivergence, and relational complexity. His specialties include polyamory and consensual nonmonogamy, LGBTQ+ mental health, kink-affirming therapy, and immigration psychological evaluations. He works with individuals and partners navigating identity, attachment, and trauma, often integrating psychodynamic and existential perspectives with evidence-based approaches such as EMDR and other trauma-informed modalities.
Dr. Khalil's clinical and academic work is informed by his commitment to inclusive, sex-positive, and culturally attuned care. As a first-generation Syrian clinician, he brings a nuanced understanding of identity, migration, and intergenerational experiences into both his teaching and clinical practice.
