Biography

My clinical experiences include working with foster care families and youth in residential treatment settings, working with incarcerated youth, and helping forensic clients with community re-integration. I have also maintained roles within private practice and consultation. I have several years of experience providing clinical supervision and acting in the role of clinical services manager within child welfare settings. I have specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, and Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS).

I enjoy working with students and early career clinicians, and I take a highly interactive approach when teaching. My teaching philosophy is centered on creating a safe space that welcomes students to learn by both giving and receiving critical feedback about class content in a reciprocal manner. I take a strength-based and developmental approach to teaching, which is always layered with a focus on diversity considerations.
