Biography
Dr. Bonny Stewart is the Director of Clinical Training and Associate Professor in the Clinical Psychology (PsyD) department at The Chicago School, Dallas Campus. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Arizona State University and her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the APA-accredited program at the Arizona School of Professional Psychology, with an emphasis in child and adolescent psychology. Dr. Stewart completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, and her post-doctoral fellowship at Childhelp Children's Center of Arizona. Dr. Stewart has special interests in attachment, trauma, developmental disabilities, and psychological assessment.
Dr. Stewart went on to earn her Master's in Education in Curriculum & Instruction, Applied Behavioral Analysis from Arizona State University. Her clinical interests include early intervention, psychological assessment, and evidenced-based therapeutic interventions for children with autism spectrum, developmental delays, and emotional disorders.
Dr. Stewart is a licensed clinical psychologist in Arizona and Texas. She has extensive clinical experience working with individuals and families in a numerous settings including hospital, community mental health, advocacy centers, schools, and internationally (China, Singapore & Malaysia). Dr. Stewart has provided supervision and consultation, training in the community, and has taught courses at the doctoral level. Dr. Stewart currently maintains a private practice providing evidenced-based psychological interventions for children and adolescents. Her professional interests include trauma informed care and parenting strategies that build positive parent/child relationships. Dr. Stewart specializes in comprehensive psychological and developmental assessment and evidenced-based parent training. She has specialty certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).
