Bryon Pickens
Biography
Dr. Bryon Pickens is an Associate Professor for the online Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Dr. Pickens previously served as a faculty member at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS and Argosy University in Nashville, TN. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP) and Board Approved Supervisor in the state of Tennessee. He maintains a private practice in the Memphis, Tennessee area where he specializes in couples counseling, addictions, and co-occurring disorders.
Dr. Pickens also specializes in the development and management of large grant programs, where his work has resulted in approximately $3 million in awards to education and community programs. He has been involved in grant work to support counseling student field experiences with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), has served as a Subject Matter Expert on grant matters with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and has successfully funded community initiatives in Tennessee and Mississippi to offer greater access to mental health services to some of the most impoverished regions of the country.
