Biography

Dr. Jansz Rieken began her training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in 2000 under the supervision of Dr. G. Martin and Dr. J. Pear at the University of Manitoba. She then completed post-graduate and Master's degrees in ABA in Ontario, Canada before beginning her doctoral work at the University of Nebraska/BoysTown and completing her doctoral work at Texas Tech University/Burkhart Center. Before joining The Chicago School, Dr. Jansz Rieken served as Director of Clinical Services, Training, and Research for a lab-based intensive treatment center for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis. There she trained college students and pediatric medical residents in the delivery of ABA-based early intervention and research methods in applied settings. Dr. Jansz Rieken also served as program evaluator for Project CASE, a support program for degree seeking college students with ASD. She joined The Chicago School in 2016 as an Applied Research Project and Advanced Applied Project Instructor with the ABA Online Department. She now serves as Assistant Professor with the department. She has over 20 years of experience as an instructor, researcher, and clinician in behavior analysis in Canada and The United States. She, along with her students, has presented research at numerous regional and national conferences, many of which have led to awards and recognition for her students. Her research interests include verbal behavior, behavior assessment, parent and staff training, evidence-based instruction in higher education, psychotropic medication interventions in ASD, and the role of trauma in behavior analytic assessment and treatment. Dr. Jansz Rieken is credentialed as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Licensed Behavior Analyst, and International Behavior Analyst. She is also a Master Trainer for The Road to Recovery.
