Biography
Dr. Shearin earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology with a minor in Quantitative Psychology at the University of Washington in Seattle under Dr. Marsha Linehan. His research interests include personality disorders, eating disorders, suicidal and self-injurious behavior, psychotherapy process, and mindfulness. as well as advocacy and social justice topics. He has taught numerous Dialectical Behavioral Therapy workshops as well as published several journal articles and book chapters on DBT and related topics. Dr. Shearin is active at state and federal levels in advocacy for improved access to mental health services, especially for underserved populations. He is currently the Federal Advocacy Coordinator for the Maryland Psychological Association. Dr. Shearin is a licensed psychologist in New York and Maryland.
