Biography

Hans Reihling, Ph.D., LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, AAMFT-Approved Clinical Supervisor, and certified in Internal Family Systems Therapy. Dr. Reihling is deeply committed to helping individuals and couples navigate trauma and relationship challenges, including infidelity and issues related to out-of-control sexual behavior. He has worked in various community mental health settings, including the rehabilitation of domestic violence offenders, counseling unsheltered families, short-term acute residential treatment, in-home family therapy, and group psychotherapy with survivors of torture.

Dr. Reihling's research has focused on exploring the intersections of social inequality, masculinities, and psychosocial health, resulting in the publication of his book, "Affective Health and Masculinities in South Africa." He has also written about the rehabilitation of gang members through involvement in religious communities, highlighting the role of gender and religion in resilience.

In his spare time, Dr. Reihling finds pleasure in outdoor adventures with his family. Hiking, gardening and cooking with homegrown vegetables are among his simple joys. Dr. Reihling also values moments of tranquility, engaging in mindfulness. He has been involved with various meditation communities in San Diego and beyond.
