Biography

Dr. Ishmael Tagoe is a trained public health researcher and an Assistant Professor for the Masters in Public Health program at The Chicago School. Originally hailing from Ghana, Dr. Tagoe completed his Bachelor's degree in Social Work and Sociology from the University of Ghana. He continued with his Masters education in Public Administration (Public Health Administration concentration) at the Bowling Green State University, and his Doctoral studies in Health Education at the University of Toledo in Ohio. During his course of study, Dr. Tagoe won a scholarship to pursue International Development and Health Policy in Malmo, Sweden and Social Work in Carleton University, Canada. Additionally, during his doctoral studies, Dr. Tagoe was a recipient of the Graduate Dean Fellowship for Diversity and co-championed various diversity and inclusion activities both at the department and programmatic level and across the University as whole. Dr. Tagoe has taught various public health courses both at the graduate and undergraduate level. His academic research work pivots around Sexual Health and HIV, Minority Health Issues and Mental Health.
