Biography

Dr. DeFilippo is an Assistant Professor in the Ed.S. and Psy.D. School Psychology Programs at The Chicago School and a Diplomate of the American Board of School Neuropsychology. He earned his doctoral degree in School Psychology from The Chicago School with an emphasis in school neuropsychology and has over a decade of experience practicing in public, charter, and private school settings. His teaching and field work focuses on psychoeducational assessment, neuropsychology, trauma-informed practice, and the biological and cognitive bases of behavior. Dr. DeFilippo's research and consultation interests include equitable assessment practices, crisis response and student support, integration of neuropsychological principles within MTSS frameworks, and data-informed decision making in schools. He is currently developing scholarship and training initiatives related to neuropsychological and trauma-informed approaches to school-based intervention and crisis de-escalation.
