Biography
Dr. Joyce Yip Green earned her PhD in International Psychology from The Chicago School. She is licensed in the state of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Board Certified Registered Art Therapist. She is endorsed as an Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist and Reflective Practice Mentor. Her current research (re)Location: Lao and Korean Acculturation Project was awarded the California Humanities, Humanities for All Grant and the LA2050 Project Grant. The project used arts-based methodologies and a phenomenological approach to examine the immigration and acculturation experiences of the Lao and South Korean elder communities in the U.S. Along with being a professor, cultural researcher and research mentor, Dr. Green presents nationally and internationally on topics of culture, Asian/Asian American issues, and art therapy. She also holds a private practice providing mental health services to individuals, couples, and families.
