Biography

Kelsey M. Latimer, PhD, CEDS-S, APRN, PMHNP-BC is a first-generation college student, graduating from the University of Rhode Island and receiving the university's annual president award/excellence award in both disciplines. Dr. Latimer's passion for research and the health/wellness of children and young adults starting her research career at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital pediatric research program which led her to furthering her education, earning her doctorate and Master of Science degrees from the University of North Texas, with emphases in child/adolescent development and neuropsychology. She completed her APA accredited internship at UT Austin with preceptorships in both eating disorders and business administration, and has since gone on to oversee several nationally recognized eating disorder treatment programs for children, adolescents and adults. During the Covid pandemic she oversaw a residential treatment center which inspired her to go back to school to gain further education in the area of nursing. She completed her BSN from FAU in their accelerated part-time program, receiving the 2021 academic excellence award, and MSN at STU with a psychiatric nursing focus. In addition, she is also an Associate Alumni of Harvard Medical School as a graduate of the Foundation of Clinical Research Certificate Program in 2024, a PSYPACT licensed clinical psychologist, Certified School Psychologist, Qualified Supervisor (QS) in the state of Florida, a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Supervisor for IAEDP and owner of KML Psychological Services. Her passions include educating the next generation of clinical providers and providing clients access to care.

Dr. Latimer has presented regionally/nationally/ internationally with over 50 invited presentations on topics such as body image, dieting downfalls, eating disorder evidence-based treatment, college student functioning and working with the millennial generation. She has been featured in dozens of media outlets (including TIME, Teen Vogue, Forbes, Today.com, Women's Health print magazine, Cosmopolitan, Allure, Washington Post, Huffington Post and many others) and is a medical reviewer for Everyday Health and bpHope. Dr. Latimer is also the co-author of the children's book series "POOFAS," which focuses on helping children to understand their emotions and provide development of positive self-esteem and positive self-talk.
