Biography

Kristen Rost is an Associate Professor in the Department of Behavior Analysis. She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from The Graduate Center of the City University of New York, an M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis from the Florida Institute of Technology, and a B.S. in Psychology and English from Western Michigan University. Before joining The Chicago School, Dr. Rost held faculty positions at Troy University and Virginia Military Institute and worked as a research scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.

Dr. Rost specializes in both basic and applied areas of behavior analysis. Her basic research in the experimental analysis of human behavior explores the extent to which people value choice and variables that influence preference for choice-making opportunities. Her applied work in organizational behavior management focuses on systems and practices that support workplace safety and health. With over a decade of experience in higher education, Dr. Rost is dedicated to helping students develop foundational academic skills, such as scientific writing, and applies behavior-analytic teaching strategies to foster engagement and collaborative learning in her courses.
