Biography

Dr. Lara Barbir, Psy.D., PMH-C is a licensed clinical psychologist, author, and faculty with over 13 years of experience specializing in trauma, depression, perinatal mental health, and behavioral sleep medicine. In her private practice in Newport Beach, California, she integrates EMDR therapy with attachment-based and interpersonal frameworks to support sustainable recovery and relapse prevention, particularly during high-risk life transitions. Dr. Barbir is the author of EMDR for Depression: Overcome the Trauma That Drives Your Symptoms (New Harbinger) and teaches, supervises, and speaks nationally on trauma-informed, prevention-oriented care. Her work is guided by a commitment to fostering emotional security and long-term wellbeing across generations.
