Biography

Dr. Dresang earned her Ph.D. in cancer biology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2010. She completed 3 years of a postdoctoral fellowship in the immunology of infectious diseases at the University of Pittsburg Cancer Institute before switching to a primarily teaching career. She then spent 12 years primarily teaching undergraduates human anatomy, cancer biology, and virology at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Over this time she also conducted research in liver metastasis, novel chemotherapeutics, and teaching-as-research-projects in human anatomy instruction, as well as STEM history with emphasis on representation in science. Also while in Stevens Point, she taught 4 years of gross anatomy for UWSP's Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. At The Chicago School she is part of the anatomy team with goals to further conduct research in anatomical instruction and outreach projects inspiring the next generation of STEM scientists and advocates. Her hobbies include drawing, science fiction, travel which highlights history, art, archaeology, and architecture, and spending time with her husband and 3 cats.
