Biography

Michael Lynch, PhD, ABPP was the Dean, The American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University Northern Virginia prior to joining the faculty at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Washington DC. Dr. Lynch received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology/Neuropsychology, at the California School of Professional Psychology, Fresno, California. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii. Dr. Lynch also holds a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling and Mental Health Counseling from St Bonaventure University. He served in the US Army for 25 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, US Army Medical Service Corps in 2004 where he served a number of hospital, command, staff, and field assignments. His last assignment was DeWitt Army Community Hospital where he was the Chair, Department of Behavioral Health managing four separate out-patient clinics and an Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program. After retirement form active duty he assumed the position as the Director of Tele-Health Services at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington DC. The program became the largest integrated Tele-Health service within the Department of Defense offering all the behavioral health disciplines, neurosurgery, neurology, pain management, dermatology, wellness, weight management as well as services for traumatic brain injured patients. Dr. Lynch served as the subject matter expert on a number of DoD level committees for behavioral health and telemedicine. He has been involved in number of research projects for neuropsychology and telemedicine. His areas of interest include neuropsychology, forensics, integrative health, biofeedback/neurofeedback, psychopharmacology, and telemedicine. He also serves as a mentor and evaluator for the American Board of Professional Psychology, Clinical Psychology (ABPP/ABCP). He was the 2011 recipient of the Maxwell R. Thurmond Award for Excellence in Medicine and Technology. .
