Biography
Michael Maloney, LCPC is a professor and therapist in private practice. He received his MA is Clinician Counseling at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2010. He returned to TCSPP to teach in 2020. He has worked in research settings including Howard Brown Health and Northwestern, both in working in Preventative Medicine. While working in research Michael worked with addiction, clinical depression, STI, group work, cancer patients, LGBTQIA populations, and people living with HIV. He also worked as an IRB administrator. Outside of research settings, he was worked clinically in domestic violence shelters, community mental health centers, and private practices. He took part of a Post-Graduate Training Fellowship at Live Oak focusing on Affirmative Practice in the LGBTQ Community, Trauma Informed Practice, Multisystemic and Multicultural Practices, Creative and Expressive Therapies. He is also engaged in work with individuals and couples therapy focusing on addiction, LGBTQIA issues, Polyamory and Consensual Non-Monogamy, trauma, OCD, marriage/couples counseling, and couples after affairs.
