Biography

I currently serve as a Counselor Educator in the Online Counselor Education Department at the Chicago School. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and approved Supervisor in the state of Louisiana, an Approved Clinical Supervisor and a Board-Certified Telehealth Mental Health Provider. I hold a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision, a master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, a master's degree in Criminology, and a bachelor's degree in Sociology.

I have counseled and/or supervised in a variety of settings including community mental health, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and private practice. My current research interests include counseling supervision, consultation and collaboration, professional gatekeeping and remediation, professional identity of counselors, counseling and spirituality, existentialism, purpose and passion as they relate to the role of the therapist as well as professional advocacy for the evolution of the counseling profession
