Biography

Michelle Colarusso earned her doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. She received her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Waynesburg University in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Colarusso has worked in community mental counseling settings and residential settings working with severe and persistent mental illness and substances abuse as well as her private practice, which focuses on LGBTQ+ individuals and couples. Dr. Colarusso also enjoys providing supervision to new counselors working towards licensure and facilitates a variety of trainings on LGBTQ+ issues, suicide risk and assessment and trauma informed care. Dr. Colarusso has been with The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in the CMHC online department since November 2020.
