Biography

Monica Kinde, PhD, MS, serves as the Senior Associate Dean of Pre-Clinical Affairs for the Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine at The Chicago School. Since joining The Chicago School, Dr. Kinde has led the development, delivery, assessment and evaluation of the preclinical curriculum for the IllinoisCOM.

As a Ruth L. Kirschstein Postdoctoral Scholar, Dr. Kinde conducted scholarly work in anesthesiology and structural biology, investigating how human neuronal ionotropic receptors influence anesthetic mechanisms through structure-function relationships in neurotransmitter-gated ion channels.

Dr. Kinde's current scholarly interests focus on innovative approaches in medical education, particularly curriculum design, student assessment methods, student success interventions and the integration of humanities to enhance holistic physician training. She is committed to creating a growth-centered and inclusive academic culture that promotes belonging and ensures equitable access to opportunities, fostering an environment where all learners can thrive personally and professionally.
