Biography
Dr. Rachel Fenton earned her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Nassau University Medical Center, where she continues to play an active role on the Diversity Committee providing seminars on clinical cultural competency. Dr. Fenton has worked in a variety of settings ranging from private practice, to addiction treatment centers. Her training modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy having received training through The Linehan Institute. Additionally, Dr. Fenton has a strong assessment background having provided both psychological and neuropsychological assessments to individuals seeking asylum, and contributing to the cultural sensitivity in norming data for neuropsychological testing through a published review with the Buros Center for Testing.
Dr. Fenton has a particular interest in working with marginalized individuals with a focus on racial trauma and complex trauma. Her research interests include studying the intersections of mental health and it's physiological impacts on communities of color, specifically African Americans.
