Biography

Dr. Renee Roman holds her doctorate degree in Industrial/Organization Psychology from Walden University; a Master's degree in Resourcing the National Security Strategy from the National Defense University, a Master's degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Howard University.

Dr. Roman has been a practicing professional and internal organizational consultant in industrial organization and business psychology practices for over three decades, serving at the Senior Executive Service level in the Federal government as the Chief of Staff in a large DoD organization, as a military officer in the U.S. Navy and leading her own Executive Coaching practice specializing in leadership transitions. She has additionally held key administrative roles in academia to include maintaining program and fiscal responsibility for three separate PhD degrees and a Master's level degree.

Her research interest focus on organization interventions to help organizations become high performing while building positive supporting cultures. Her dissertation topic was on how the personal energy level of a senior leader impacts their choice of subsequent leadership behavior and the downstream effects that has on their employees. As a researcher, Dr Roman has served as the Dissertation Chair for multiple students over the past seven years successfully shepherding them to obtain their PhD. Her preferred research methodology is qualitative, and she has taught both basic and advanced qualitative research methods and has served as an active participant on Institution Review Boards.

She is a member of the Society of Industrial Organization Psychology (SIOP) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). In her spare times she likes to jump in her RV and travel to peaceful locales.
