Biography
Dr. R o d n e y E. H a r r i s , P h D , LCMHC-S , N C C , A C S, BCC, BC -TMH, CBSPC
Dr. Harris is a scholar-practitioner who divides his time between clinical practice, teaching and consulting outside Raleigh, NC. Currently, he directs the Virtual Clinic Training Center; one of the first telehealth graduate community health training clinics in the nation. Dr. Harris has practiced for over twenty years. More recently, he has served extensively in community mental health managing several grants. They utilize the barbershop, church, and a center for the unhoused as intervention points to address health disparities. Dr. Harris is a member of the Suicide Prevention Institute (SPI) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where the research team is designing interventions to address the alarming increase in suicide (his focus is on black and brown youth). His research interests include: generational trauma, black and brown youth suicide patterns/trends, multicultural supervision and critical incident stress debriefings.
