Biography

Dr. Sarah Dunkel-Jackson is an Assistant Professor at The Chicago School in the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program where she serves as Research Faculty. She has served as Academic and Research Faculty at Michigan State University in the Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) and Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Special Education (CEPSE) Department where she taught courses and served as project director on several U.S. Department of Education Institute for Education Sciences (IES) research grants exploring assessments and interventions to support educators, families, and individuals with disabilities. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at the Doctoral level (BCBA-D), Dr. Dunkel-Jackson has held several other program coordination and clinical leadership roles in human service agencies, schools, and secure treatment centers in Michigan, Illinois, Ontario, and Ghana. Her applied and translational research is focused on behavior assessment, behavioral interventions, caregiver/staff training/development, communication/verbal behavior, and youth sports. Recently, Dr. Dunkel-Jackson received the Willie O'Ree Community Hero Award from the National Hockey League (NHL) and several other honors for her work on the Sports Are For Everyone (SAFE) Challenge programs that she founded to make youth sports accessible and safe for everyone.
