Biography

Dr. Dansby's areas of interest in teaching are assessments, diagnostic interviewing, crisis intervention and forensic based courses. Previously, Dr. Dansby served as the Department Chair for the College of Arts and Sciences at Argosy University, Chicago and Schaumburg Campuses. She has over 19 years of experience in the field of Psychology. Dr. Dansby has worked in a variety of clinical and forensic settings, such as corrections, hospitals, private practice, community mental health and schools. She also has served as a Subject Matter Expert Consultant for Forensic Psychology and Mental Health Crisis Intervention Training at Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC. In addition, she has served as the Director of Operations for a former vendor of the Sheriff's Women's Justice Program - a division of the Cook County Jail system and the Social Services Director at the Center for Community Academic Success Partnerships. Also Dr. Dansby has worked at the Center of Applied Psychology and Forensic Studies, where she performed pre-employment screenings and fitness for duty evaluations for local law enforcement agencies, assisted with court ordered evaluations of adults involved in criminal proceedings and coordinated programming. She has served as a project testing assessor for the Illinois Clemency Project for Battered Women.

Moreover, Dr. Dansby has served as a research assistant for the Gender-Specific Programming for Juvenile Female Offenders Training and Technical Assistance funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). She assisted with developing trainings in areas including gender-specific programming for girls, cultural competence, and mental health. She also served as Al Gore, the Former Vice President's research assistant for the book "Join at The Heart."

Dr. Dansby earned her doctorate from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology-Schaumburg Campus and her Master of Arts Clinical Psychology degree from Fisk University. She completed her APA-accredited internship at Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services Consortium in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Also Dr. Dansby completed her APPIC-accredited Forensic Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Dixon Correctional Center in Dixon, Illinois.
