Biography
Shavonne J. Moore-Lobban, PhD, ABPP, is board certified counseling psychologist who focuses her career on providing high-quality services to marginalized populations and training future psychologists to do the same. She is currently the Campus Director for the Washington DC Campus, and the Director of the APA-Accredited internship program (Mid Atlantic Internship Consortium) at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Washington DC Campus. Dr. Moore-Lobban is also an author, consultant, and advocate.
Dr. Moore-Lobban completed her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Purdue University, her internship at Boston University School of Medicine's Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology, and her fellowship at the Boston Veteran Affairs (VA) Healthcare System in affiliation under Harvard Medical School's Department of Psychiatry. She is licensed to practice psychology in the states of Massachusetts and Maryland, as well as the District of Columbia (DC). Additionally, Dr. Moore-Lobban received her board certification, in counseling psychology, from the American Board of Professional Psychology.
Dr. Moore-Lobban's professional expertise is in leadership, training, consultation, and mentoring. She is actively involved in the American Psychological Association (APA) where she has chaired numerous committees, tasks forces, and workgroups. She a past Chair of APA's Board for the Advancement of Psychology in the Public Interest (BAPPI), and a Past President of APA's Division 17 (the Society of Counseling Psychology).
Dr. Moore-Lobban has clinical expertise in trauma (sexual trauma, domestic violence, racial trauma, and community violence) and in providing services to marginalized communities. She has developed curriculum on sexual and interpersonal assaults, has been called to participate in state government efforts to reduce the demand of sexual exploitation, and was asked to provide support services to victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing federal court proceedings. She has co-authored multiple publications, lead numerous presentations and workshops, and published two books in 2022.
