Biography
Dr. Teresa L. Collins-Jones is the Associate Dean in the College of Professional Psychology. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and her Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance, with a concentration in Marital and Family Therapy, from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She subsequently completed her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Oklahoma, with an emphasis in Pediatric Psychology and Clinical Child Psychology.
During her doctoral training, Dr. Collins-Jones participated in the Interdisciplinary Training Program in Child Abuse and Neglect (ITP), an advanced academic program housed in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She completed both her Predoctoral Internship and Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Psychology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. In addition, she holds a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Health Promotion from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
Dr. Collins-Jones has served in a wide range of professional roles across academic and clinical settings. Her experience includes serving as a psychologist in a frontier area through the National Health Service Corps, working as a school psychologist in Utah and Texas, and holding positions as a faculty member, Department Chair, and Associate Dean of Online Academic Operations. Most recently, she served as a pediatric psychologist and Director of Training in the Department of Psychology at a local children's hospital. She also maintains a private practice specializing in the psychological treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults with co-occurring medical conditions.
She teaches courses in Child and Adolescent Psychopathology, Psychological Assessment, Health Psychology, and Pediatric Psychology. Dr. Collins-Jones also has a strong record of scholarly activity, having presented at national and international conferences and published her work in peer-reviewed journals.
