Unique Scholarship Offerings for IllinoisCOM’s DO Program

The Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine (IllinoisCOM) Academic Scholarship Program recognizes and supports exceptional students entering the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) program. The program reflects The Chicago School’s commitment to advancing access to medical education and to honoring students whose academic achievements and personal values align with the osteopathic philosophy of service, compassion, and lifelong learning.

Scholarships are awarded based on both undergraduate GPA and MCAT performance, and all accepted applicants are automatically reviewed for eligibility. No separate application is required.

Osteopathic President’s Scholarship

  • Award: $60,000 total ($15,000 per year over four years)
  • Eligibility:
    • Undergraduate GPA of 3.70 or higher
    • MCAT score of 510 or higher
  • This is IllinoisCOM’s highest academic honor, offered to incoming students who have demonstrated exceptional achievement and a strong commitment to advancing the field of medicine.

Osteopathic Dean’s Scholarship

  • Award: $40,000 total ($10,000 per year over four years)
  • Eligibility:
    • Undergraduate GPA between 3.50–3.69
    • MCAT score between 505–509
  • This award recognizes students who bring strong academic preparation and the potential to make a meaningful contribution to the osteopathic community.

Osteopathic Merit-Based Scholarship

  • Award: $5,000–$10,000 (one-time, during the first year)
  • Eligibility:
    • Undergraduate GPA between 3.40–3.49
    • MCAT score between 500–504
  • This scholarship celebrates students who have shown consistent academic effort and dedication to pursuing excellence in their medical education.


The Chicago School is under no obligation to provide any scholarship to any student, and all scholarship awards are subject to funding availability. While scholarship candidates are reviewed automatically upon the submission of a completed application for admission to The Chicago School, the submission of a completed admissions application does not guarantee that a scholarship will be awarded, nor does it indicate an offer of admission to The Chicago School. Neither the applicant nor the applicant’s parents or guardians shall have any legal or equitable recourse against The Chicago School concerning any scholarship offer or scholarship award. The Chicago School is not liable for any expenses incurred in connection with the scholarship award process. Scholarship award decisions are final and are made after the admission review process is complete and an offer of admission has been extended.
