In high-conflict couples, partners often communicate but do not hear each other. Instead, they become caught in escalating protective interaction cycles. This presentation introduces affective health as the ability to affect and be affected while remaining open and regulated. When this capacity becomes constrained, couples remain stuck fighting. Drawing on an Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO) informed approach, participants will learn to recognize these dynamics in real time and facilitate U-Turns that shift partners from protection toward more nuanced, relational expression. Through clinical examples and brief experiential practice, students will gain practical tools to create meaningful change. Register below!
