The Chicago School presents The Distinguished Speaker Series, "Transforming Pain Into Purpose" event featuring leading Chicago advocates Jordan "DXTR" Holmes and Christopher LeMark.
The Chicago School is proud to present The Distinguished Speaker Series, events that bring together thought leaders in mental health, psychology, and education. The series is designed to inspire and inform, providing attendees with insights from experts who are shaping the future of these critical fields.
The first event is focused on the theme of "Transforming Pain Into Purpose," and will feature leading Chicago mental health advocates Jordan "DXTR" Holmes and Christopher LeMark at the University Club of Chicago on Thursday, September 19 at 5:30 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.).
Both men have dedicated their lives to helping remove the mental health stigma in the Black community, particularly in Chicago. This topic is particularly important to the city as Black Chicagoans are nearly twice as likely as white residents to report poor mental health. Nationally, Black men are less likely to receive mental health treatment compared to the general population.
Tickets to the event are $20 and include dinner and refreshments. To find out more information and purchase tickets visit the Eventbrite page.
