ConCISE Center
The ConCISE Center is a student-run consulting firm that serves as the practice arm of the Business & Industrial-Organizational Psychology Department at our Los Angeles Campus. The center provides a wide range of human capital consulting services to businesses and nonprofit organizations by utilizing the skills and knowledge of a diverse student body completing their master’s- and doctoral-level studies.
With each successful project and professional connection made through ConCISE, Los Angeles students gain valuable experience and share the benefits of business psychology consulting with the greater community. All consulting work is either pro bono or deeply discounted as part of a larger goal to provide services to the greater community.
Forensic Training Institute
The Forensic Training Institute, located at the Los Angeles Campus, consolidates the free or low-cost services that The Chicago School has offered to the local community since 2008, including crisis intervention training, workshops on post-traumatic stress disorder and substance abuse, mental health counseling, and research in partnership with local organizations and agencies.
The institute also provides training and assessments to local agencies and organizations, including the Los Angeles Police Department, Sheriff’s Department, Coroner’s Office, and City Attorney’s Office. They also partner with A Better L.A., a nonprofit organization that empowers grassroots leaders to transform their own neighborhoods.
Naomi Ruth Cohen Institute for Mental Health Education
Naomi Ruth Cohen showed her compassion by working in her community for the benefit of the disadvantaged. The Naomi Ruth Cohen Institute (NRCI) was established in 2000 in memory of this remarkable woman who lived with bipolar disorder and died by suicide. Based at the Chicago Campus, NRCI is dedicated to eradicating the stigma associated with mental illness and suicide.
The institute has touched the lives of thousands of individuals and families through its annual community mental health conferences as well as education and training, including Mental Health First Aid, suicide prevention, and topic specific programs that explore specific mental health diagnoses and challenges, providing guidance and resources. These programs reduce stigma, improve mental health literacy, and increase the confidence of youth and adults to assist and support those experiencing a mental health challenge.
Diversity Center
With the desire to prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion for the benefit of all community members, the Chicago Campus Diversity Center was created in 2018 after a yearlong dialog with students, faculty, and staff. The Multicultural Diversity Advisory Faculty Committee continues to shepherd the evolution of the Diversity Center.
Center for International Studies
The Center for International Studies has a location at each of our campuses to assist international students studying in the United States for the first time and to promote learning opportunities to engage with diverse populations around the world.
Global Education – Our global education programs offer opportunities to travel abroad for intensive international study.
International Partnerships – We partner with organizations around the world to provide a wide range of growth and development opportunities.
Visiting Scholars – International scholars visit to engage with students about world issues from a global perspective.
International Alumni Council – A network of alumni living worldwide that may include Americans living abroad or graduates who attended The Chicago School as an international student.
